Madrid may be back at the top of La Liga, but for a club who claim the European Cup is in their DNA – and whose Bernabeu stadium hosts the final – that will mean nothing if they fail to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Lyons this week.

It has been reported, that president Perez had offered his stars an extra €250,000 (£225,000) per head if they overturn Lyons’ 1-0 goal advantage on Wednesday night.

This weekend they scraped a dramatic 3-2 victory over Seville to take them to the top of La Liga on goal difference but everyone at the club knows what really matters this season. Players have gone on record as saying the Champions League is the primary aim this campaign. “This game is a final for us” said Cristiano Ronaldo of the Lyons tie.

So what do you think ? Will Real Madrid defeat Lyon ?

RM 2-0 Lyon! Real Madrid can play better at the bernabeu I think they’ll win hope so though there are many absent players :S

Money talks . Or, maybe not for theese over-paid stars? Anyway, I think RM will take a 2-1 victory and Lyon will make it to the next round.

I think Real Madrid will be able to defeat Lyon (2-0 score is possible) if they can play the same as against Seville.
And the supporters in Bernabeu will follow them as they did on the weekend.
And they must let Guti play from the start to win. (I would like to let Raul play even if Kaka will be taken off)
I think Real Madrid will get together a team because they don’t have to stop here… They must fight with Man Utd. or Barcelona… so why should they leave this stage??? I won’t let Lyon go to next stage, Never! hahaha.
Real Madrid will win and Cristiano will be the top scorer again. This is my dream.

Real Madrid didn’t go to next stage again! (6 years, they haven’t!) Why they can’t get out of Best 16 in Champion League? Why they didn’t win against Lyon? I think Lyon is a good team but…Real Madrid really doesn’t defeat them???
Only Cristiano got a goal…but the game was draw at their home…
Well, I don’t blame them for their lose but it was worst defeat… Maybe anti-Real Madrid fan will really happy.
They sill say something disagreeable… This makes me feel in blue… Actually some of anti-Real Madrid fans in Japan said something disagreeable this mornig such as ” Real Madrid is great. I watched best game this morning.”
Now, I hope Real Madrid won’t change soon even if they don’t have anymore chance to win for Champion league this year…

Very sad… I don’t even have anything to say I’m shocked…first half was good we ruled the pitch,Cristiano made incredible goal,but at the second,omg no words…but I don’t blame team,now they have to focus on La Liga,because if in the end they’ll remain 2nd… this would be a fiasco.

I’m really upset now. Because I heard that there was a fireworks in Barcelona… I really don’t like Barcelona now!
Then, if Real Madrid will win the Liga, I will send flowers to people in Barcelona.
